Louis Vuitton- SS 2012
Louis Vuitton is the last big show of the season, so Marc Jacobs decided to show a luxuriously decadent but sweetly feminine collection for the house. The set certainly disappoint; models were lounging on a massive all-white carousel. Then the clothes appeared! The silhouettes were classic, and the garments were modest. There was no S&M from last season to be seen here. The colors were pastel; white, pale blue, yellow, pink, and green. There were dresses that had lace cutouts that were dazzling in their detail. The crocodile coats and biker jackets were also glamourous and chic. The feathers on the final dresses were lovely, and the flower embellishments on many of the dresses looked incredible. The bags were in classic Vuitton shapes, but they were made in alligator, the finest leathers, and had intricate details. It seemed as though Jacobs also caught the couture bug in the most literal of ways by employing the finest craftsmanship possible for ready-to-wear. All of this makes me wonder, is this a sign that Dior is on the horizon for Marc Jacobs?
