Emanuel Ungaro- SS 2012
And another one bites the dust! Giles Deacon is unfortunately out at Ungaro, and his design team actually had to finish this collection. It was apparent Deacon did not supervise this collection mainly because of how wearable and how much more commercial these clothes were. This show consisted mostly of dresses, but there were some killer jumpsuits. The prints were quite vivid and energetic, and the color palette consisted of mostly red, teal, white, navy, and some warm metallic tones. Although these dresses were beautiful, it lacked the creative and daring energy that Deacon brought to the house. Hopefully Ungaro will get a creative director that they like soon, or this house is at risk of fading away from prominence.
